I have heard that when Athens outlawed masturbation, Diogenes went to the public square and masturbated, inviting other men to join him. It was a deep expression of honesty. It could well be a lesson to the frauds who today revile masturbation but certainly do it. To be human is to masturbate. Later, Catullus might have but did not write this line: "masturbari ergo homo sum."
BTW, the GOP, if it succeeds with its jihad against abortion, will most certainly go after masturbation.
